Mediation
Approach:

I draw from several different mediation styles to craft a process that will best serve the people in conflict. That includes litigants represented by attorneys who brief the cases and advocate for their clients or individuals seeking their own personal resolution of their conflict. My process is sensitive to different cultural backgrounds, gender, and ethnicity, and is conducted to help participants understand, honor, and work with those differences in a positive way. I use my own legal and other background experience where appropriate to help participants achieve their goals.
Brief
Thumbnail:

I began my mediation career before mediation was fashionable and am one of a handful of practitioners in the Bay Area who have developed and modified mediation approaches now being used by other practitioners. The value of the mediation I conduct comes from how much it assists the people who have a conflict to better understand each other and resolve that conflict on their own terms. I mediate to help clients achieve their goals, whether that is to settle a case in litigation, resolve a case of alleged race discrimination or sexual harassment, amicably dissolve or restore a partnership, terminate or revive an employment relationship, repair relationships to resolve a family conflict, or help a community determine how to fairly share and utilize a community asset, among others.

I have mediated hundreds of cases and trained over 2000 people in mediation skills and process including lawyers, judges, human resources professionals, psychotherapists and many others who have become mediators themselves. It would be a privilege to apply my skills and experience to help you resolve your conflict.
