I am primarily facilitative, but I will be evaluative and directive if the parties request me to be.
Neutral Approach:
Through questions and the facts/evidence the parties present, I help the parties distill the issues down to the pivotal or critical issues. I provide my opinion on possible outcomes and their likelihood and identify areas where additional discovery is needed.
Other Information:
When I mediate, I enjoy the challenge of helping parties reach resolution, even when the parties are extremely polarized in their positions. I volunteer time to mediate and train for Santa Clara County Office of Human Relations. I am a mediation coach and past Secretary for Campus Consortium, an organization devoted to developing mediation progrmas for Bay Area and other colleges and universities.
