Mediation Experience:
I have mediated 20-25 cases, all in the area of trust and estate litigation. Only two cases failed to settle at the mediation and both settled soon thereafter. I have served for several years on the San Francisco Probate Pro Bono Panel.
Mediation Training:
40 hours training by J. P. Jones Group sponsored by the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Alameda County Bar Association; 3 hours ACBA 2006.
Mediation Approach:
I begin every mediation in a facilitative style, aiming at getting the parties to communicate about the issues. This is key in disputes involving families. Sometimes I can be evaluative, if that seems appropriate. I am not usually directive.
