Mr. Young has over 40 years of civil litigation experience in matters ranging from personal injury, products liability, unfair competition, and related business torts, to medical and chiropractic malpractice, construction defects, and commercial contracts.
Mr. Young has tried over 35 jury cases that have involved the full gamut of tort litigation.
Mr. Young has been honored by being selected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, The International Association of Defense Counsel and in his defense practice; he is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Since 2001 he has devoted his practice to representing pliantiffs. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has been selected as "Top Lawyers in the Silicon Valley Area" in the field of civil litigation.
He has completed a 40-hour course on "The Mediation Process." He is qualified by the Santa Clara County Bar to serve as a mediator and arbitrator, and has mediated over 200 cases, most of them to a successful conclusion.
He has served as Judge Pro Tem helping to resolve diputes on hundreds of cases in the Santa Clara County Superior Court. In recognition of this fact, Mr. Young was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievment Award by the Santa Clara Superior Court for his role as a temporary judge. Mr. Young is often selected to resolve fee disputes between clients and attorneys and to assist in settling civil litigation matters.
He is also selected as a special master in discovery cases.
Mr. Young has particiapted in numerous arbitrations in cases involving tort, breach of contract, employment law, business litigation and medical malpractice.
Mr. Young received his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. In Law School, he was elected into the academic honorary Thurston Society.
Mr. Young is a member of th Amrican Bar Association and the California Bar Association.
As a member of the Saratoga Rotary he recently travelled to Guatemala to assist a team performing cleft lip suregery.
