I have mediated hundreds of matters involving commercial and general contract disputes, commercial leases, fraud, misrepresentations, fee disputes, professional malpractice, real estate, boundary disputes, landlord/tenant, unlawful detainer, technology, trade secrets, intellectual property, employee classifications, wage and hour claims, boundary disputes, construction, elder abuse and personal injury, traumatic brain injury and airplane turbulence injury. I currently serve as a mediator for American Arbitration Association and on mediation panels of San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa and Orange County Superior Courts.

I have served as an arbitrator in cases involving fraud, negligence, misrepresentation, conversion, mergers & acquisitions, indemnity, breach of contract, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act, and unsuitable investment claims. As counsel, I have served in arbitration cases involving trade secret misappropriation, SEP/FRAND disputes, and contract disputes in IT industry with damages claims in billions of dollars.

I promote and utilize a pre-mediation protocol of separate conferences with representatives of all parties, exchange of key information and mediation statements in advance and establishing agreed-upon agenda for the mediation session. I review all submitted materials and engage in conversation with the parties’ representatives in advance to understand the interests and goals of each party.

I have served as a federal prosecutor and tried more than 50 cases to verdict as first chair, including 11 jury cases and 1 International Trade Commission case. I was deeply involved in the Apple-Samsung litigation, the largest patent dispute dubbed “the patent case of the century."
