Mediation
Experience:

I am a full time mediator, arbitrator, teacher and consultant. Since the 1990's, I have helped parties successfully resolve disputes involving employment, commercial, class action, contract, franchise, intellectual property, personal injury, real estate, licensing, defamation, tort, discrimination, entertainment, malpractice, escrow, fiduciary duty, construction defect and other issues.
I teach negotiation, mediation and ADR at Stanford Law School (and formerly in the MBA program at USF). I am on the Advisory Board, and was the national Co-chair, of the 1100 member Workplace section of the Association for Conflict Resolution. Since 1994, I have served as a settlement Judge pro tem for the San Francisco Superior/Municipal Court, and have been chosen to be on the international mediation and arbitration panels of Canada's most prominent dispute resolution provider, as well as the panels of various courts and class actions. And I speak and publish widely on dispute resolution issues.
Mediation
Training:

Since 1996, I have spent up to hundreds of hours per year teaching mediation and negotiation around the world (including in Canada, the U.S., England, Australia, Ireland, Germany, France, China, St Lucia, the Bahamas, and Trinidad). In addition to my work as Stanford and USF, I have taught in conjunction with leading Canadian and American ADR organizations, and the U.S. District Court for N.D. Ca. Finally, I have taken vaious mediation training courses beginning while at Harvard Law School in 1984, and including courses given by the U. S. District Curt, The California Court of Appeals, the Stitt Feld Handy Group, and Gary Friedman's Center of Mediation in Law.
Arbitration
Experience:

I was one of the few arbitrators, nationwide, agreed upon by plaintiffs and defendants to arbitrate claims in a high-profile class action against a major financial institution. Since 1992, I have served as a Judge pro tem in the San Francisco and Alameda Superior and Municipal courts, and have decided approximately 60-100 cases as a Small Claims Court Judge and a Small Claims Appeals Judge (were the procedures are informal, and resemble arbitrations).
